TRAINWRECK green & red band trailer – Amy Schumer & Bill Hader star for Judd Apatow

Anyone not familiar with Comedy Central’s breakout start Amy Schumer will soon see her name on big screens everywhere, thanks to Judd Apatow directing her in TRAINWRECK. Written by Schumer, the story follows a young woman in New York who isn’t looking for anything more than a one night stand, yet finds a man who is in Bill Hader. Saturday Night Live’s Vanessa Bayer plays Amy’s best friend, and Lebron James (yes, that Lebron James) plays Hader’s buddy, but the most interesting-looking cast member is Tilda Swinton as Schumer’s very tan boss. The impressive supporting cast includes Brie Larson, John Cena, Mike Biriglia, Ezra Miller, Marisa Tomei, Daniel Radcliffe, Barkhad Abdi, Jon Glaser, Colin Quinn, and Randall Park. If I’m being honest, the trailer (green and/or red) below didn’t do much for me, and in many ways felt kind of long and meandering… kind of like a lot of Apatow’s films. Schumer’s character appears to be pretty despicable, so rooting for her might be hard, unless there’s certain aspects not on display here. Hopefully the film will be surprising, but so far this isn’t winning me over. I’ll say this, if it turns out to be a dud, the title isn’t going to help much. Take a look for yourself and see what you think.

Since she was a little girl, it’s been drilled into Amy’s (Schumer) head by her rascal of a dad (Colin Quinn) that monogamy isn’t realistic. Now a magazine writer, Amy lives by that credo—enjoying what she feels is an uninhibited life free from stifling, boring romantic commitment—but in actuality, she’s kind of in a rut. When she finds herself starting to fall for the subject of the new article she’s writing, a charming and successful sports doctor named Aaron Conners (Bill Hader), Amy starts to wonder if other grown-ups, including this guy who really seems to like her, might be on to something.

And here’s the red band trailer:
