Horror movies have always been popular with the teen crowd, but as the high school interests change the movies must keep up with their current interests. And what’s big right now in that world? Social media – everything from Twitter to Facebook, to Skype and the like. Reportedly, after Universal executives saw a test screening of UNFRIENDED terrify a test audience, the studio acquired the thriller that was developed and conceived by visionary filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov (WANTED). Directed by Levan Gabriadze, the film is written by Levan Gabriadze and produced by Bekmambetov and Greaves, as well as Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, THE PURGE and INSIDIOUS series). The trailer keeps things a little cryptic – is this a killer using the identity of a dead girl? A cyber ghost? I guess we’ll find out. Check out the trailer below and tell us your thoughts. The poster above is for American audiences, but also check out this alternate title poster, using the title CYBERNATURAL.
