The new film THE LOFT is actually a remake of Belgium director Erik Van Looy’s film THE LOFT (2008), though chances are most American audiences won’t be aware of that fact. The impressive cast includes Karl Urban, James Marsden, Wentworth Miller, Eric Stonestreet, Matthias Schoenaerts, Isabel Lucas, Rachael Taylor, and Rhona Mitra. It follows five married men who agree to have a secret fantasy pad they call “The Loft” where they can live out their darkest desires… but of course things go wrong. Now they must work together to figure out the person responsible for a murder that could destroy all of their lives. We’ve seen these types of movies before, but this does look interesting. The only downside here is the film being released now, as it’s been done for about three years. That’s usually not a good sign, but who knows, this may still be a great thriller. Check out the trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Karl Urban (Star Trek Into Darkness) and James Marsden (2 Guns) star in the tense psychological thriller THE LOFT, the story of five married guys who conspire to secretly share a penthouse loft in the city–a place where they can carry out hidden affairs and indulge in their deepest fantasies. But the fantasy becomes a nightmare when they discover the dead body of an unknown woman in the loft, and they realize one of the group must be involved. Paranoia seizes them as everyone begins to suspect one another. Friendships are tested, loyalties are questioned and marriages crumble as the group is consumed by fear, suspicion and murder in this relentless thriller.

THE LOFT opens January 23, 2015
