HOT TUB TIME MACHINE was a moderate success in 2010, but saw a strong life on home video. While a sequel wasn’t necessarily in demand, these days studios look for a franchise whenever they can. HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2 reunites Craig Robinson, Clark Duke and Rob Corddry, though John Cusack isn’t around – according to his Twitter he wasn’t asked, though that sounds rather unlikely. Why bring back three and not the main star? Adam Scott joins the team this time, playing the son of Cusack’s character from the first movie. Collette Wolfe returns as Corddry’s love interest, Chevy Chase is back as the hot tub repairman, and Gillian Jacobs also stars. Director Steve Pink and writer Josh Heald are both back as well, and in many ways this looks more crazy than the first one. Check out the new green band trailer below, which is actually just a cleaner re-cut version of the previously released red band trailer (also below). Tell us your thoughts in the comments, are you looking forward to this one?

In the sequel, when Lou (Corddry) finds himself in trouble, Nick (Robinson) and Jacob (Duke) fire up the hot tub time machine in an attempt to get back to the past. But they inadvertently land in the future. Now they have to alter the future in order to save the past… which is really the present.

Here’s the red band trailer that was released four months ago… you can see how the green band trailer above is essentially just a cleaner version:

HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2 opens February 20, 2015
