After the success of films like NEIGHBORS and THIS IS THE END, it’s safe to say Seth Rogen is on a hot streak. Re-teaming with THIS IS THE END co-director Evan Goldberg, Rogen also joins his buddy James Franco once more for THE INTERVIEW. The story follows a TV host (played by Franco) and his producer (Rogen) who are granted an interview with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un. But the CIA gets involved and want to turn this trip into an assassination attempt. You can imagine how insane this will get. The cast also includes Lizzy Caplan and Randall Park, and looks very similar in tone to THIS IS THE END or PINEAPPLE EXPRESS. There’s been a lot of press surrounding the film, and the real Kim Jong-Un apparently did not find the premise funny, and even stated he’s consider the release of the movie and “act of war.” Apparently this hasn’t phased anyone involved, as the new “final” trailer isn’t pulling many punches. Take a look below and tell us your thoughts in the comments. I have to admit, the Katy Perry bit had me chuckling quite a bit.

In the action-comedy The Interview, Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show “Skylark Tonight.” When they discover that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un.

THE INTERVIEW opens on December 25, 2014
