Even though many people made jokes about it, PAUL BLART: MALL COP was actually surprisingly successful with domestic box office. Don’t believe me? It earned $150 million in the States, a lot less overseas though still another $37 million. Supposedly the film cost $26 million to make, which in and of itself is a little surprising, but it actually made almost $200 million worldwide. If I’m being honest, I actually really enjoyed the first movie for what it was. And with that kind of return a sequel is usually inevitable, yet for some reason that follow-up took longer than normal. Well, it’s here now, and the action is moving to Las Vegas. Kevin James is (of course) back, starring with Neal McDonough, Molly Shannon, Eduardo Verástegui, Daniella Alonso, David Henrie, D.B. Woodside, Turturro, Loni Love, Gary Valentine, Ana Gasteyer and Raini Rodriguez. PAUL BLART: MALL COP 2 is directed by Andy Fickman (PARENTAL GUIDANCE) and hits theaters next April. Tell us your thoughts in the comments below. Are you looking forward to seeing Paul Blart back on the big screen?

In this sequel, in which Kevin James reprises the role of Paul Blart, the security guard is headed to Las Vegas to attend a Security Guard Expo with his teenage daughter Maya (Raini Rodriguez) before she departs for college. While at the convention, he inadvertently discovers a heist – and it’s up to Blart to apprehend the criminals.
