EDGE OF TOMORROW hits Blu-ray and DVD today from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. This was one of the more fun movies to hit in 2014, and in the opinions of many genre fans (myself included) was criminally overlooked at the box office. You can read my full review here. Warner Bros. also did something interesting with the home video release of the film. Almost all of the trailers and TV spots used the slogan “Live. Die. Repeat.” – a slogan I initially thought would have made a much better title, as EDGE OF TOMORROW just doesn’t tell you much about the film. I guess Warner agreed, and have put “LIVE. DIE. REPEAT.” in giant letters on the packaging of the film, and the words EDGE OF TOMORROW in rather small print, in essence sort of re-branding the movie. Whatever works, I just hope people see it, as it’s one of the better Sci-Fi movies to hit in recent years. The Blu-ray + DVD combo pack is loaded with some cool features, listed below, and you can watch a brief video snippet below as well. My only complaint, if any, is I would have liked even more features as there’s so much to delve into with a film like this. That said, EDGE OF TOMORROW is a solid home video release, and one of the best Tom Cruise movies of the past few years as well.

On October 7th, Warner Home Entertainment is releasing EDGE OF TOMORROW on Blu-ray and DVD, and Bigfanboy.com has partnered with Warner to host a contest where we’re giving away a Blu-ray + DVD set. Just send us an e-mail and tell us what your favorite Tom Cruise movie is and why. Make it good, no one-sentence answers please. We want this to go to a deserving winner. Contest is open to U.S. residents only. Make sure to include your shipping address with your e-mail. Contest ends on October 21, 2014. One entry per household – all duplicate entries will be deleted. Get those entries in a good luck!

An alien race, undefeatable by any existing military unit, has launched a relentless attack on Earth, and Major William Cage (Tom Cruise) finds himself dropped into a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage is thrown into a time loop, forced to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again and again. Training alongside warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), his skills slowly evolve, and each battle moves them one step closer to defeating the enemy in this fun action thriller.
