Disney’s FROZEN returns with a short film in Spring 2015 called FROZEN FEVER

If you’re one of the few people who somehow missed the mega-hit FROZEN when it was in theaters last November, or somehow never saw the best selling Blu-ray ever (yes, it has that honor), make sure to remedy that before next Spring. Disney realizes the fandom over FROZEN isn’t waning among kids or adults, and has a short film follow-up planned for Spring 2015. Last night ABC ran a special on the making of FROZEN, and some announcements came out of that. There’s a Disney on Ice tour planned, some new versions of FROZEN soundtracks, and even a new sing-along DVD and Blu-ray hitting this November. But near the end of the special they teased the new short film FROZEN FEVER, which will reunite the director team of Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and will even have a new some by Oscar winners Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. As for the story, “it’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk.”

Disney noted that the beloved snowman Olaf will also appear in the short, but as of right now there’s no official word on whether or not voice stars Kristen Bell (Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa), Josh Gad (Olaf) and Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) will return for the short… though we’d be shocked if they didn’t. FROZEN earned $1.274 billion worldwide box office, so we expect this short film won’t be the last everyone sees of the lovable animated characters. Are you excited to see these characters back together again? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
