When you think of Gods in the world of rock and roll music, there are certain names that spring to mind almost immediately. Among those names should be Alice Cooper, who has defined an impressive music legacy, and cultivated devoted fans across the world. It’s actually hard to believe no one has made a definitive documentary of the man already… but SUPER DUPER ALICE COOPER may finally right that wrong. The film is made by Sam Dunn, Reginald Harkema and Scot McFadyen, the men behind the excellent documentary RUSH: BEYOND THE LIGHTED STAGE. Interviews in the film include Alice Cooper (of course), Sheryl Cooper, Dennis Dunaway, Robert Ezrin, Ella Furnier, Shep Gordon, Elton John, John Lydon, Iggy Pop, Neal Smith, Dee Snider, and Bernie Taupin… wow, now that’s an impressive list of names. It just played at the Tribeca Film Festival, and hit UK theaters last week. We expect an official US release date to be announced soon. Take a look at the Tribeca trailer and tell us your thoughts in the comments. If you live in Texas (or can find your way there), you can meet Alice Cooper at the Dallas Comic Con this May 16-18.

Super Duper Alice Cooper is the twisted tale of a teenage Dr Jekyll whose rock n roll Mr Hyde almost kills him. It is the story of Vincent Furnier, preacher’s son, who struck fear into the hearts of parents as Alice Cooper, the ultimate rock star of the bizarre. From the advent of Alice as front man for a group of Phoenix freaks in the 60s to the hazy decadence of celebrity in the 70s to his triumphant comeback as 80s glam metal godfather, we will watch as Alice and Vincent battle for each others’ souls. The is the first ever ‘doc opera’ – a dizzying blend of documentary archive footage, animation and rock opera that will cement forever the legend of Alice Cooper.
