Darwyn Cooke’s BATMAN BEYOND animated short from WonderCon is Bat-tastic

We just showed you a special BATMAN 75th Anniversary animated short by Bruce Timm last week, which was pretty amazing. This week, thanks to it playing over the weekend at WonderCon 2014, DC Comics has released yet another animated short. This one comes from the mind of superstar artist Darwyn Cooke, and features BATMAN BEYOND. Kevin Conroy once again voices older Bruce Wayne, and Will Friedle voices Terry McGinnis. For those unfamiliar, BATMAN BEYOND followed the popular BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES, set in the future, where young Terry became the successor to Bruce Wayne as Batman. Conroy voices the older Wayne in the series, and while it only ran a few years, the character has remained a fan favorite. What’s great about this new short is it’s exciting and fun, and even finds a way to give a not-so-subtle nod to all of the Batman archetypes that have existed through the years. While I loved the Bruce Timm 75th anniversary short, this is equally pleasing. Take a look and tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
