The staff of BIGFANBOY.com makes no bones about our love for HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON. What could have been a vapid kids movie with dragons and Vikings wound up being a film with rich characters, fantastic animation and a story we’ll go back to repeatedly for seconds. Hearing writer / director Dean DeBlois talk about his plans for the sequel when he accepted the Tex Avery Award at the 2011 Dallas International Film Festival only stoked our enthusiasm for the project. Seeing the first teaser poster by Drew Struzan, which Dean premiered at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, just made us even more excited. Very soon we’ll see what he’s cooked up with DreamWorks Animation. The newest poster and brand new trailer is out – take a look and see if this doesn’t blow your kilt up. I love that the story here continues the “family” element of the first film, while taking our characters out of puberty. I would say I can’t wait… but that would be an understatement.

The thrilling second chapter of the epic HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON trilogy returns to the fantastical world of the heroic Viking Hiccup and his faithful dragon Toothless. The inseparable duo must protect the peace – and save the future of men and dragons from the power-hungry Drago.

With voice work from Jay Baruchel, Cate Blanchett, Gerard Butler, Kit Harington, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J. Miller, Djimon Hounsou, and Kristen Wiig, HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 soars into theaters June 13, 2014.
