Anchor Bay Films is becoming a force to be reckoned with, after releasing the excellent Adam Green film FROZEN, and other cool-sounding movies on their slate, they have effectively gone from being a company known primarily for DVD re-releases to a bankable production house for solid entertaining horror titles.  Their newest entry is AFTER.LIFE, which stars Christina Ricci, Liam Neeson, and Justin Long. The story follow a young woman caught between life and death… and a funeral director who appears to have the gift of transitioning the dead, but might just be intent on burying her alive.  Check out the new trailer below, which looks pretty creepy.

AFTER.LIFE is scheduled to be released nationwide on April 9, 2010

Interesting side note, Alfred Molina was originally cast in the Liam Neeson role, but was replaced by Neeson.  And get this, Kate Bosworth was originally cast in the lead, but was replaced by Christina Ricci.  Honestly, not offense to Molina or Bosworth, I like the current casting better.  Also, get this, the prop knife you see Ricci wielding toward the end of the trailer is the same knife used by Glenn Close in FATAL ATTRACTION.  Interesting.  Here is the original poster produced back when Bosworth was to play the lead.
