Video Interview: LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED star Trine Dyrholm

I’m not the biggest fan of romantic comedies, mainly because many of them seem so formulaic. But occasionally one comes along that is just unique enough or daring enough to break away from the same old Hollywood trappings. Such is the case for LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED, a Danish/English language tale set primarily in Italy. Outside of revolving around an unlikely relationship, it also involves family drama, dealing with kids, and infidelity… in short, it’s more than a typical romantic comedy, and still very accessible for audiences. While Pierce Brosnan gets top billing on the poster, make no mistake, this is Trine Dyrholm’s movie. The Danish star is radiant and real with her portrayal, and seems fearless with her performance. It’s refreshing and endearing, and may just be one of the best female performances to hit this year. I got a chance to sit down with Trine during a recent press stop in Dallas, and you can see our interview below. I actually had the pleasure of doing this interview not only for me but also the Angelika blog, an extension of The Angelika Theater, one of my favorite Dallas hangouts. LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED is now playing at the Dallas Angelika.
