New poster & featurette for KICK-ASS, plus John Romita Jr. art!

It’s KICK-ASS mania!  Honestly, we just can’t get enough of the new Matthew Vaughn film, and I can tell you it’s one of the things I’m most excited about seeing at South By Southwest.  Well this week we’ve got a few things to show ya.  First up, as you can see above, there’s a new poster featuring Hit-Girl.  Nothing mind-shattering, but hey, it’s a new KICK-ASS poster, and that’s worthy of note.  Next up, EMPIRE has posted a new behind-the-scenes featurette in which Matthew Vaughn, Aaron Johnson, Mark Strong, and more are interviewed briefly, and you get to see some cool footage in the process.  Nic Cage doesn’t appear, but the video is cool nonetheless.

.

And finally, my buddy Rick Marshall over at MTV posted a very cool shot of KICK-ASS comic artist John Romita Jr.’s artwork used in the movie.  The following shot can be seen in Big Daddy’s lair during the film.  Each image represents a criminal, with Mark Strong’s character Frank D’Amico taking the top baddie position.  This image and more like it can be seen in the (sure to be bad-ass) KICK-ASS: CREATING THE COMIC, MAKING THE MOVIE book hitting stores next week.  You can see the cover in Rick’s MTV article.  You can also order it now using the links below.

KICK-ASS opens nationwide on April 16, 2010
