Teaser trailer & poster for Stephen King’s CARRIE remake (starring Chloë Grace Moretz) are here

Some of you may not be aware there’s a remake of the beloved Stephen King story CARRIE on the way. The original 1976 version from director Brian De Palma is considered by many to be a true horror classic, so it will be interesting to see what this new take gives us. The roles made famous by Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie and updated with the fantastic Chloë Moretz (KICK-ASS, LET ME IN) and Julianne Moore. This version is directed by Kimberly Pierce (BOYS DON’T CRY), who seems like a fitting and inspired choice, with a screenplay by comic book scribe Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. It co-stars Judy Greer, Gabriella Wilde, Alex Russell, and Portia Doubleday. Take a look at the poster above and teaser trailer below, and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

SYNOPSIS: The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.

CARRIE opens March 15, 2013
