Can you smell what the LOBO is cooking?

As you may have heard, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment are currently working to bring their main man, the bad bastich himself LOBO to the big screen.  After it was thought a few years ago that Guy Ritchie (SNATCH, SHERLOCK HOLMES) would be bringing the sole surviving Czarnian (sole-surviving because he killed all of the rest of his race because, well, he wanted too) to the silver screen, we now know that JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND director Brad Peyton is writing and directing the upcoming adaptation.

Now it appears that Mr. Peyton has possibly found his fraggin leading man.  From his Twitter account, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has let this slip:

“Rumors of me possibly playing LOBO are true. Joel Silver and Brad Peyton working on it now. That could be fun.. “

What are your thoughts on the matter?  Do you think The Rock can pull off the camp, viciousness and attitude needed to bring DC’s meanest bounty hunter (so mean that he was kicked out of both Heaven and Hell after being killed because he caused too much trouble) to the big screen or do you think he will leave DC fanboys screaming, “FEETAL’S GIZZ!!!!”

LOBO is going to be directed by Brad Peyton from a script by himself and Don Payne.

SYNOPSIS: A live action adaptation of the DC Comics title about an alien interstellar bounty hunter.

In the film, Lobo will be a seven-foot tall, blue(gray)-skinned, indestructible and heavily muscled anti-hero who drives a pimped out motorcycle, and lands on Earth in search of four fugitives who are bent on wreaking havoc. Lobo teams with a small town teenaged girl to stop the creatures.

LOBO does not have a firm release date as of yet.
