Kevin Smith’s COP OUT red band trailer – Bruce Willis & Tracy Morgan talkin’ dirty

When Kevin Smith’s buddy cop movie starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan went through a studio-insisted name change from A COUPLE OF DICKS to COP OUT (hello irony!), fans wondered if the movie itself would suffer.  After the initial trailer was released, many have wondered if the film was going to indeed be funny enough to warrant it’s large amount of internet hype.  I love Kevin’s movies, even enjoyed JERSEY GIRL and not afraid to admit it.  But so far I haven’t been wowed by this one, at least from what I’ve seen.  I have to believe Smith can make it amusing, and I’ve been curious as to whether or not the humor is just a little too raunchy to put into trailers and TV spots.  Well, now there’s a red band trailer, which is needless to say a little more dirty in language, though about the same look in terms of quality.  I’m reserving judgement on the pairing of Willis and Morgan, which is without a doubt an odd coupling.  But again, I have faith Kevin can make it work.  Add in Seann William Scott, Michelle Trachtenberg, Rashida Jones, Jason Lee, Adam Brody, Kevin Pollak, and Fred Armisen – you’ve got (at the very least) a solid bankable cast that should make this worth a look.  Plus, it’s Bruno playing a cop again, and that’s always fun to watch… right?
