Video interview: Will Ferrell talks CASA DE MI PADRE, takes a call, seems interested in ANCHORMAN 2 and STEP BROTHERS 2

Just before leaving for South by Southwest, I had a chance to sit down with Will Ferrell to chat about his new comedy CASA DE MI PADRE, a daring parody of Spanish telenovelas done almost completely subtitled. The film is rather amusing, especially if you “get” the joke. It’s a project he’s collaborated on with Funny or Die partners Matt Piedmont (directing) and Andrew Steele (writing), and it opens this weekend. The following video shows excerpts from the roundtable interviews held at Sundown at the Granada Theater in Dallas – amazing food there by the way. With the exception of the phone call Will took (not my phone!), all the questions and answers you’ll see are the ones I asked and the ones Will answered. This is my second time interviewing Ferrell, and he’s always fun to talk to in these scenarios. Big thanks to Rachel Parker of DFWlive for shooting this, and thanks to the fine folks at Allied Entertainment for setting this up. Check out the video below and leave your thoughts in the comments.

CASA DE MI PADRE is now playing everywhere.
