James Franco and Kirsten Dunst weigh in on SPIDER-MAN 4 fallout

So with all the SPIDER-MAN 4 fallout news hitting the net, and Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire officially out, we’ve yet to hear from two of the other regular stars from the franchise – James Franco and Kirsten Dunst.  Well, that is until now.  At the Sundance Film Festival, Franco was promoting his new movie HOWL, about the poet Allen Ginsberg.  James was quoted (by eonline) to say “I don’t have a problem with that” and “It worked out well for Batman, and comics themselves have different artists and writers.  I think it’s perfectly fine.”  However Franco also said “I think for the viewers you want a little space [between Raimi’s and Webb’s flicks], so you can get everyone else out of your head.”

At the Elysium benefit, both Franco and Kirsten Dunst (who played Mary Jane Watson in the first three SPIDER-MAN films) stated “It’s sad to see it end.  I think for Sam it was time for him to move on, and so we’re all going to move on with him.  But we’ve had a good 10 years.”
