JOYFUL NOISE trailer starring Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton – a movie your mom will definitely want to see

We haven’t seen Queen Latifah in a big starring role in a while, but that’s about to change. She’s back on the big screen with the one and only Dolly Parton in JOYFUL NOISE. There’s a new trailer out for the film, which looks like a slightly older slant on something like GLEE, but nevertheless could be a fun time at the movies. My mother has already noted how much she’s interested in this, and I’m assuming most of your mothers will feel the same way. It’s not particularly my cup of tea, but the idea of Parton and Latifah going head to head is rather amusing. I also like the fact that they address in the movie (and even the trailer) how Dolly has obviously had quite a bit of work done. The film co-stars Kris Kristofferson, Keke Parker, Courtney B. Vance, Jesse L. Martin, and Jeremy Jordan, and is directed by Todd Graff (BANDSLAM). Check out the trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

“Joyful Noise” is the story of a small town choir out to win a national competition despite overwhelming odds. A story of faith and determination by the choir leaders (Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton) and the young talent who give their all to win god’s praise and beat the competition for the grand prize.

JOYFUL NOISE opens January 13, 2012
