THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA to start shooting in June

Fangoria recently got some quotes from director Joe Johnston for the upcoming WOLFMAN movie, and Joe inadvertently (possibly on purpose) dropped some news about CAPTAIN AMERICA, the next big Marvel comic-to-film adaptation which he’s helming.  In the quote, Frangoria notes, “Johnston, speaking from the art department of THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA, which he’s readying for a June start.

So does this mean we’re FINALLY gonna see Cap done right on the big screen?  I really love Johnston’s films, especially THE ROCKETEER.  I think he’s a great choice to take on Captain America, so let’s hope all the pieces fit.  THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA is scheduled to be released July 22, 2011.

Let’s hope it’s better than the 1990 entry…
