Sony has released the first official teaser trailer for next summer’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. I have to say, it does a good job of “teasing” while not giving too much away as there is no shot of the Lizard and only a few glimpses of the Spider-Man. One of the more interesting aspects of the film’s trailer is the first person view of Spidey swinging thru the city. I am quite intrigued by this. It seems that Marc Webb is really trying to let the audience feel what it is like to be Spider-Man swinging thru the city.
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, directed by Marc Webb (500 DAYS OF SUMMER) is a reboot of the franchise, sending Peter Parker back to high school and will focus on Peter dealing with contemporary human problems while also dealing with a super-human crisis in the form of the savage Lizard. The film, set to hit theaters in July 3, 2012 in 3D and 2D, stars Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker / Spider-Man), Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy), Rhys Ifans (Dr. Curt Conners / The Lizard), Denis Leary (Captain George Stacy), Irrfan Khan (Van Atter), Martin Sheen (Uncle Ben Parker), and Sally Field (Aunt May Parker).

Spider-man’s origin is one of the most famous in all of comic history, however film makers still have to ensure that new audience members know what’s going on. Even in this case, where this movie is a restart from a franchise that was just started 10 years ago, there will still be those new to the series. In addition, the director also uses this as a way to say, “hey, this is a new telling and is not associated with the previous movies.”

Mediocre at best …actually made me “not” want to see it …I know it’s real early but it did nothing to garner excitement for me to see it …Captain America: The First Avenger (easily the best comic book movie this year …if not among the best of all time) makes it look like kid’s stuff …
