In a few weeks people will be flocking to their local cinema’s and plopping down their money to see the classic western tale get turned on its head with the inclusion of beings from beyond in Jon Favreau’s COWBOYS & ALIENS. In just a little under a year, many of those same people will be again heading to their local cinema’s and plopping down their money to see Timur Bekmambetov’s ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER. With other movies on the horizon like PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES, the mixing of classic tales and period pieces with things that go bump in the night is becoming new ground for Hollywood. Enter John Geddes’ EXIT HUMANITY.
The trailer definitely does a good job of showing the moody atmosphere that the director was going for, but the unique part is the inclusion of animation throughout the film, reminding me a lot of Oliver Stone’s NATURAL BORN KILLERS. With this only being a teaser trailer, it’s hard to figure out just how the animation will play in the overall progression of the movie.
