It’s been a few years since we’ve had a good virus scare flick, and Steven Soderbergh may have the perfect film to fill that void with CONTAGION. The stellar cast features Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow (apparently not a “big” part), Kate Winslet, Laurence Fishburne, Marion Cotillard, Jude Law, the great John Hawkes, Bryan Cranston, Sanaa Lathan and Elliott Gould. Check out the official trailer below, and see if this looks like your cup of tea. To me films like this are always tricky, as ultimately they look pretty depressing, and not exactly welcoming to moviegoing audiences… but then there’s the 1970’s disaster film-like casting, which is hard to turn away from, and of course Steve Soderbergh directing is a BIG plus.

Born and raised in Dallas, Mark has been a movie critic since 1994, with reviews featured in print, radio and National TV. In 2001 he started the Entertainment section of the Herorealm website, where he contributed film reviews and celebrity interviews until 2004. In addition to Hollywood reporting, Mark has worked for many years as an advertising and sci-fi/comic book artist. Clients have included Lucasfilm Ltd., Topps Trading Cards, The Dallas Mavericks and The Dallas Stars. From 2002 until 2015 he managed the Dallas Comic Con, Sci-Fi Expo and Fan Days events in the DFW area. He currently catalogs rare comic books and movie memorabilia for Heritage Auctions, and runs the Dallas Comic Show conventions, but remains an avid moviegoer and cinema buff. 
I think this is an absolutely stellar trailer and I cannot wait for the film. As soon as I heard Soderbergh was working on a viral infection film, with the wonderful Scott Z Burns writing, I was sold. Then the cast started to fill out. Can’t wait for the panel at Con.
