New and best trailer yet for RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

We’ve seen a few things here and there from director Rupert Wyatt’s re-imagining of the PLANET OF THE APES saga, RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, which opens this August. James Franco plays the lead, with Andy Serkis doing motion capture for the lead ape, Caesar. The rest of the cast is made up of Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Tom Felton, and Brian Cox. I love the new trailer, which really showcases more of the relationship Caesar has with his human counterparts, before things go downhill. This is obviously a much more primal telling of the man-against-apes story, but nevertheless looks cool and exciting. Check out the newest trailer below, and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is an origin story in the truest sense of the term. Set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.
