Thomas Jane will co-star with Sylvester Stallone in Walter Hill’s HEADSHOT

Thomas Jane is no stranger to action films, with credits like THE PUNISHER and DEEP BLUE SEA already on his resume, and Sylvester Stallone has seen a big comeback in the action realm lately with THE EXPENDABLES, RAMBO and ROCKY BALBOA.  The fine folks at JoBlo got a sweet scoop on their 100th podcast, on which Tom was a special guest.  Evidently he will be co-starring with Stallone in the Walter Hill directed HEADSHOT.  Sly portrays a hitman in New Orleans that teams up with a New York police detective played by Jane, the two of them brought together by brutal murders.  Sounds like the movie becomes a revenge flick, with two unlikely vigilantes paired together by circumstance, and taking justice into their own hands… perfect material for Walter Hill, and these two actors.  Interesting tidbit – Tom originally wanted Walter Hill to do PUNISHER 2 when he was on board, but apparently the studio wouldn’t go for it, so I guess they were meant to work together at some point.

During the podcast Jane said the following about the movie: “He’s a hitman, I’m a cop, and we’re just opposite in every f*cking way, and we need each other to get this job done. And of course I’m like, ‘As soon as this job’s over, I’m going to take you to jail, you know, you’re a killer.'”

If you’ve never listened to the Arrow In The Head podcast, it’s a lot of fun.  I do a podcast every Thursday and have for the past 5 years, so I know of what I speak.  If you live in the Dallas area, you can meet Tom Jane this May 21-22 at the Dallas Comic Con, where he’ll be a special guest along with his business partner (and comic book cover artist extraordinaire) Tim Bradstreet, legendary creator Stan Lee, Leonard Nimoy, Carrie Fisher, screenwriter Todd Farmer, 30 DAYS OF NIGHT creator Steve Niles, SWAMP THING co-creator Bernie Wrightson, and many more.  For more info on that check out the official DALLAS COMIC CON website.
