New featurette for Ron Howard’s THE DILEMMA featuring Vince Vaughn and Kevin James

There’s been some controversy over Ron Howard’s upcoming new comedy THE DILEMMA, particularly over a (in our opinion) relatively harmless “gay” joke used prominently in the trailers.  Universal Pictures even recut the trailer to appease those offended, but sadly that kind of stigma can easily stay with a film once attached.  Aside from that, the initial trailer really didn’t make the movie look like much more than fomulaic and somewhat predictable comedy… not exactly what you might expect someone like Ron Howard to be helming these days.  Here’s the original UNCUT trailer if you haven’t seen it:

All that said, a new featurette is out, showing us a little bit more of the comedic scenes in the film, and even spotlighting a few interviews with the stars and Ron Howard as well.  I can honestly say, this featurette has made me infinitely more excitied for the movie, as there’s definitely some funny stuff going on here.  THE DILEMMA stars Vince Vaughn, Kevin James, Jennifer Connelly, Winona Ryder, Channing Tatum, and Queen Latifah.  And because this is a Ron Howard movie, yes, there are cameos by both his brother Clint Howard and his father Rance Howard.  Check it out for yourself and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

THE DILEMMA opens January 14, 2011
