Trailer and poster for CEDAR RAPIDS starring THE HANGOVER’s Ed Helms

Wondering when the next time you’d see Ed Helms on the big screen would be?  THE OFFICE star made a big impression on audiences with the smash hit THE HANGOVER, and is currently finishing up THE HANGOVER 2.  But what do we watch until then?  Well, his new comedy, which is one of the many cool films playing at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, is CEDAR RAPIDS.  The movie is directed by Miguel Arteta (YOUTH IN REVOLT), and co-stars John C. Reilly, Sigourney Weaver, Anne Heche (looking GREAT in this trailer), Stephen Root, Kurtwood Smith, Alia Shawkat, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Mike O’Malley, Rob Corddry and Seth Morris.  The studio synopsis is as follows:

To call insurance agent Tim Lippe (Ed Helms), “naive” is a gross understatement. He’s never left his small hometown. He’s never stayed at a hotel. And he’s never experienced anything like Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Sent to represent his company at the annual insurance convention, Tim is soon distracted by three convention veterans (John C. Reilly, Anne Heche and Isiah Whitlock Jr.) who will show him the ropes and push his boundaries. For a guy who plays everything by the book, this convention will be anything but conventional.

Check out the trailer below.  I have a sneaking suspicion this is one of the trailers that’s carefully crafted to make the movie look more funny and outrageous than it really is, but I could be wrong.  Look like your cup of tea?  Tell us in the comments below!
