I know, I know, when you hear JANE EYRE you’re not exactly thinking intense intrigue.  But this new trailer may surprise you a bit, and with a cast that includes Mia Wasikowska (ALICE IN WONDERLAND), Michael Fassbender (INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS), Jamie Bell (soon to be seen in THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN), Imogen Poots (SOLITARY MAN), Judi Dench (NINE, or any James Bond movie since 1995), and Sally Hawkins (NEVER LET ME GO).  I’m more than a little interested in what the end result could be.  This version is directed by Cary Fukunaga (SIN NOMBRE), and features some creepy and atmospheric shots – definitely not what you might expect.  While I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for the Timothy Dalton version (mainly because I have a man crush on Timothy Dalton), I’m more than willing to give Fukunaga’s adaptation a chance.  At the very least, be prepared to get creeped out by the last shot… watch and you’ll see what I mean.  JANE EYRE opens from Focus Features on March 11, 2011.
