I saw this trailer before our screening of INCEPTION, and I can honestly say I knew nothing about it until that moment (oddly enough this looks stylistically a lot like a Christopher Nolan film).  Ben Affleck follows up his controversial directorial effort in GONE BABY GONE with THE TOWN, in which he also portrays a main role.  The cast also includes Jon Hamm, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall, Blake Lively, and the great Chris Cooper.  I loved GONE BABY GONE, for its slick style and its unconventional storytelling.  I think Affleck should be doing more directing, so I’m happy to see this on the horizon.  Plus the trailer looks pretty solid, so there’s that too.  Assemble a great cast, make it gritty, and you’ve got my attention.  Check out the trailer and see what ya think.

THE TOWN opens September 10, 2010
