Have you heard about THE SOCIAL NETWORK movie yet? You know, the Facebook movie? Director David Fincher (THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON) helms this film about Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, played by Jesse Eisenberg (ZOMBIELAND). The screenplay was written by none other than Aaron Sorkin (THE WEST WING). It co-stars Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield (the new SPIDER-MAN), Rashida Jones, and Rooney Mara. Trent Reznor is doing the soundtrack. Sounds like the men behind Facebook had quite a bit of drama behind the scenes. This is also based on the book ‘The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal’ by Ben Mezrich. Hmmm… think Tom of Myspace is upset no movie got made during the height of his site’s popularity? Will we look back on this movie as irrelevant in 5 or 10 years? Do we really need a Facebook movie?!?! Oh well, Fincher hasn’t let me down yet… except with ZODIAC, which I wasn’t crazy about. David Fincher at his worst is still pretty good. Let us know your thoughts.
