I really love the BAD BOYS franchise, which started with a bang in 1995, making Will Smith an action star, and Michael Bay a superstar director. The first sequel BAD BOYS II was big on action but didn’t seem to have the charm or magic of the first, while the recent third movie BAD BOYS FOR LIFE was a return to form and helped reignite the franchise. Now we’re getting BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE, which almost looks more like a FAST & FURIOUS movie than the other films, but still looks like exciting fun. I love a lot of the little moments here, like Martin Lawrence drooling over gas station hot dogs, or Will Smith recreating his famous action run from the first movie. I also love that they found a creative way to bring back Captain Howard, as in the third movie Joe Pantoliano’s fan-favorite character was sadly killed off. This one is directed by Adil and Bilall, who previously helmed BAD BOYS FOR LIFE. The cast also includes Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Nuñez, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Jacob Scipio, Melanie Liburd, Tasha Smith, and Tiffany Haddish. Check out the profanity-filled first trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
This Summer, the world’s favorite Bad Boys are back with their iconic mix of edge-of-your seat action and outrageous comedy but this time with a twist: Miami’s finest are now on the run.
