After the rather disappointing GHOSTBUSTERS reboot in 2016, the original film’s director Ivan Reitman and his son Jason Reitman majorly redeemed the franchise with the much more effective GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE in 2021, which effectively introduced a set of new characters, and brought back the original cast in a fun and satisfying way. Now, that movie is getting its own sequel in GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE, which sees the return of just about everyone we met in AFTERLIFE, and even brings back the original film’s nemesis William Atherton! Gil Kenan (MONSTER HOUSE) directs this time around, and the cast includes Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Annie Potts. This look dark and fun, I’m in. Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.
