THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER opens in July, and we’re getting another new trailer for it, probably because the first trailer was so heavily delayed, and now Marvel Studios is making up for lost time. And yeah, it still looks pretty great, and like the first trailer has Guns ‘n’ Roses “Sweet Child of Mine” playing along with the action. Chris Hemsworth returns (of course) following the events of AVENGERS: ENDGAME, in which he was hitching a ride with the Guardians of the Galaxy. But the big selling point here is seeing the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who looks to become The Mighty Thor, much like what happened in the comics, though it is suspected this change is temporary. She appears to be worthy of wielding Mjolnir though, as evidenced in the trailer. Also look for the return of Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Taika Waititi as Korg (he’s also back in the director chair), Jamie Alexander back as Sif (this makes me VERY happy), and the Guardians themselves, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and Sean Gunn. Joining the chaos is Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher and Russell Crowe as Zeus. I can’t wait, check out the new trailer and see if you feel the same way.

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late. Directed by Waititi (“Thor: Ragnarok,” “Jojo Rabbit”) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum.

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER opens in theaters on July 8, 2022
