It’s kind of crazy that THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER opens in July, and we’re just now getting a teaser trailer for it. Some suspected they were holding it back because it might have spoilers for DOCTOR STRANGE AND THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS, and I even thought they might do something similar to what they did with SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME and make the first trailer a post-credit stinger. But here it is, and it’s pretty great, complete with Guns ‘n’ Roses “Sweet Child of Mine” playing along with the action. Chris Hemsworth returns (of course) following the events of AVENGERS: ENDGAME, in which he was hitching a ride with the Guardians of the Galaxy. But the big selling point here is seeing the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who looks to become The Mighty Thor, much like what happened in the comics, though it is suspected this change is temporary. She appears to be worthy of wielding Mjolnir though, as evidenced in the trailer. Also look for the return of Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Taika Waititi as Korg (he’s also back in the director chair), Jamie Alexander back as Sif (this makes me VERY happy), and the Guardians themselves, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and Sean Gunn. Joining the chaos is Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher and Russell Crowe as Zeus. I can’t wait, check out the trailer and see if you feel the same way.

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER opens in theaters on July 8, 2022
