MS. MARVEL trailer – the first Marvel Studios Muslim superhero comes to Disney+

The Marvel Cinematic Universe still has plenty on the horizon, but we’re not done with the original Disney+ series featuring some of their popular characters. The next up is MOON KNIGHT, starring Oscar Isaac, but almost immediately after that comes MS. MARVEL, which features Marvel’s first Muslim superhero Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani, and this series is somewhat unique as it’s going to lead directly into a big screen Marvel movie. Kamala Khan is introduced here, and will be seen side-by-side with Brie Larson in the sequel to CAPTAIN MARVEL called THE MARVELS. The MS. MARVEL series is set in New Jersey, and it does appeal they’ve changed elements of her story from the comics, where she was considered an “Inhuman” (not unlike a mutant) who possessed superpowers. Here it appears she’s using cosmic bands on her arms to create constructs, which is similar to another Marvel superhero called Quasar. We also recently saw powerful bands like these in SHANG-CHI. This series will run 10-episodes and is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (BAD BOYS FOR LIFE), Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (SATARA: LET GIRLS DREAM), and Meera Menon (HALT AND CATCH FIRE). The cast also features Matt Lintz, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Laurel Marsden, Mohan Kapur, and Aramis Knight. Check out the first trailer and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
