If you’re not familiar with the Marvel Comics character of Morbius, The Living Vampire… it’s okay, we understand. He started as a Spider-Man villain, but in the 1990s got his first solo title, and became more popular as a sort of anti-hero. Sony is still getting things together for their next Spidey movie, but while we wait we’re also getting a new taste of the big screen treatment for MORBIUS. Directed by Daniel Espinosa, the film stars Jared Leto, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, Michael Keaton, and Tyrese Gibson… and judging by this latest trailer, it looks like Keaton may be in it for more than just a cameo. I have to say, this looks pretty cool, but to those unfamiliar with the character, I could also see it looking like just another vampire film… or perhaps an UNDERWORLD knock off. The trailers have been pretty good though, see if the final one doesn’t get you interested.
One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.
