THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH trailer – Chiwetel Ejiofor updates a Sci-Fi classic for Showtime

The original adaptation of THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH starred David Bowie and hit theaters in 1976, becoming a Science Fiction classic, though one that some found a bit hard to dissect. The newest take on the material is hitting Showtime as a series, this time putting Chiwetel Ejiofor in the lead, and includes a stellar cast featuring Naomie Harris, Jimmi Simpson, Rob Delaney, Sonya Cassidy, Joana Ribeiro, Annelle Olaleye, Kate Mulgrew, Clarke Peters and Bill Nighy. Based on the 1963 Walter Travis novel, it should be interesting to see how the episodic format interprets the source material. Check out the trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Inspired by the Walter Tevis novel of the same name and the iconic David Bowie film, “The Man Who Fell to Earth” will follow a new alien character (Ejiofor) who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future. Harris plays Justin Falls, a brilliant scientist and engineer who must conquer her own demons in the race to save two worlds.

The first two episodes of THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH hit Showtime on April 24, 2022
