If you enjoyed James Gunn’s THE SUICIDE SQUAD, you might remember the post-credit sequence teased that Peacemaker (played by John Cena) survived his extreme injuries, which was an intentional tease for his character to return in his own HBO Max series titled (of course) PEACEMAKER. Today we get a new look at that series, which hits in just few weeks, and promises to exhibit the same crazy tone as the movie from last year. It’s also important to note that Gunn wrote all eight episodes of the series, and directed five of them. Gunn and fellow THE SUICIDE SQUAD producer Peter Safran are executive producing, and John Cena is on board as a co-executive producer. The supporting cast includes Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Chris Conrad, Chukwudi Iwuji, Alison Araya, Lenny Jacobson, and Nhut Le. I’m most excited about Peacemaker’s pet bald eagle named “Eagly” …you’ll see. Check out the new trailer and tell us your thoughts in the comment below.
