BEING THE RICARDOS trailer – Nicole Kidman and Javier Barden become Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz

It’s a bit amusing that so many movies these days are dramatic re-tellings of real life celebrities that shaped pop culture years ago, played by top level actors and actresses. The latest biopic that looks to be going after Oscar gold is BEING THE RICARDOS, which analyzes the rocky and tabloid lives of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, played here by Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem. This comes from writer/director Aaron Sorkin, who shows the behind the scenes of Lucy and Desi during their time making I LOVE LUCY. The cast also includes J.K. Simmons, Jake Lacy, Alia Shawkat, Nina Arianda, Tony Hale, Clark Gregg, Linda Lavin, Robert Pine and Ronny Cox. This hits theaters first in December, followed by a run on Amazon Prime Video. Lucille Ball (Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) are threatened by shocking personal accusations, a political smear, and cultural taboos in Academy Award®-winning writer and director Aaron Sorkin’s behind-the-scenes drama Being the Ricardos. A revealing glimpse of the couple’s complex romantic and professional relationship, the film takes audiences into the writers’ room, onto the soundstage, and behind closed doors with Ball and Arnaz during one critical production week of their groundbreaking sitcom I Love Lucy.

BEING THE RICARDOS hits theaters December 10 and then Amazon Prime Video on December 21, 2021
