Thanks to DC FanDome, an online event celebrating DC Comics superhero fare for movies, TV and more, we’re getting treated to some first looks at a few of the highly-anticipated Warner Bros. productions that will be hitting soon. One of those is THE FLASH movie, which brings back Ezra Miller, who played Barry Allen / The Flash in the JUSTICE LEAGUE movie. The film looks to be heavily influenced by the “Flashpoint” story in the comics, which opened up possibilities for multiverse characters, like an alternate universe Batman, etc. – but it also deals directly with Barry’s somewhat tragic background in which his mother was murdered, and his father blamed for it. Ron Livingston appears as Barry’s dad in this one, Maribel Verdu plays his mom, Kiersey Clemons plays the object of his affection Iris West, Sasha Calle appears as an alternate universe take on Supergirl, and Temuera Morrison is said to appear playing Aquaman’s father Tom Curry… but the BIG selling point here is two Batmans, Ben Affleck playing Batman from the Zack Snyder films, and the one and only Michael Keaton playing an older version of his Tim Burton-era Batman. And based on the trailer, we’re getting at least two versions of Ezra Miller’s Flash, so that’s also interesting. THE FLASH went through several director changes and script alterations, but the final version is directed by Andy Muschietti (Stephen King’s IT chapter one and two) and features a screenplay by Christina Hodson (BIRDS OF PREY). Check out the first teaser trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
