WHAT IF…? is a particularly intriguing series to come from the Marvel Studios stable, an animated anthology show that’s led by a character known as The Watcher (voiced by the great Jeffrey Wright). The show will give us alternate stories with popular Marvel characters (like Peggy Carter becoming Captain America, or T’Challa becoming Star-Lord), and in many cases will feature the voices of the actual stars who played those characters. Chadwick Boseman recorded his voice for this show, so technically we’ll at least hear him as T’Challa one last time, even if it’s not playing The Black Panther.

This is actually taken from an idea established in the comics, a series titled WHAT IF? that explored alternate ideas for classic comic book storylines. The voice cast also includes Chris Hemsworth, Hayley Atwell, Jeff Goldblum, Josh Brolin, Dominic Cooper, David Dastmalchian, Michael Douglas, Karen Gillan, Frank Grillo, Sean Gunn, Tom Hiddleston, Djimon Hounsou, Samuel L. Jackson, Toby Jones, Michael B. Jordan, Neal McDonough, Natalie Portman, Jeremy Renner, Michael Rooker, Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo, Seabastian Stan, Chris Sullivan, Stanley Tucci, Taika Waititi, and Seth Green (as Howard the Duck). Take a look at the sleek new trailer below and see if you aren’t excited.

And if you missed it, here’s the initial teaser trailer for the series:

WHAT IF…? premieres on Disney+ on August 11th, 2021
