Disney’s ENCANTO trailer – Lin-Manuel Miranda provides songs for this new animated feature

If the contributions of Lin-Manuel Miranda in Disney’s MOANA weren’t enough for you, get ready for ENCANTO, the newest entry from Disney Animation telling the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto. Think of a village full of superpowered folks, except one person seems to just be normal. We’ve seen Disney films set in South Asian lands, and most recently Italian villas, but this story takes on a Columbian setting. The voice cast includes Stephanie Beatriz, Wilmer Valderrama, and Diane Guerrero. This film is directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush (who previously helmed ZOOTOPIA) and Charise Castro Smith, with Miranda providing original songs. Check out the first trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

A young Colombian girl has to face the frustration of being the only member of her family without magical powers.

ENCANTO opens November 24, 2021
