SPIRAL: FROM THE BOOK OF SAW interview with director Darren Lynn Bousman & co-writer Josh Stolberg

SPIRAL: FROM THE BOOK OF SAW might be a sequel to the existing SAW film franchise, but in many ways it is its own animal – existing in the same universe as the other films, but not necessarily tethered to them or relying on them to tell its own story. The new movie comes from a story idea by star Chris Rock, and brings back SAW II, III and IV director Darren Lynn Bousman, and JIGSAW co-writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger. I had a chance to sit down with Bousman and Stolberg, where we discussed the ideas that led to this new installment, their collaboration with Chris Rock, and the creativity behind the traps and practical gore effects. Check out the new video interview below, and look for SPIRAL in theaters now. My sincere thanks to Grady May for editing this interview on the fly for me.
