The new Disney/Pixar film LUCA uses some truly exotic settings, both underwater and the Italian Riviera, for a true “fish out of water” story. The voice cast includes Jacob Tremblay, playing a teenage sea monster, and Jack Dylan Grazer who helps him enter the world on land. This is the directorial debut of Enrico Casarosa (COCO, UP) who draws from his real-life experiences living in the Italian Riviera, and is written by Mike Jones and Jesse Andrews. The supporting cast includes Emma Berman, Maya Rudolph, Marco Barricelli, and Jim Gaffigan. Check out the new trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, Disney and Pixar’s original feature film “Luca” is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface.

LUCA hits Disney+ starting June 18, 2021
