It will be 35 years since COMING TO AMERICA hit theaters when the long-awaited sequel COMING 2 AMERICA premieres on Amazon Prime Video this March. It’s a movie many have wondered when we’d finally get, and a sequel many have wanted for some time now. In the original film, Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) and his confidant Semmi (Arsenio Hall), both from a prestigious African province, traveled to America where they tried to fit in working normal jobs. Akeem met a woman and fell in love, and ultimately married her and moved back home. It was a nice, fun fish out of water story that delivered what would become some classic comedy moments. The sequel catches us up with Akeem and Semmi, who once again travel to America, this time focusing on Akeem’s son. THe cast includes Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, KiKi Layne, Shari Headley, Wesley Snipes, James Earl Jones, John Amos, Teyana Taylor, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Paul Bates, Nomzamo Mbatha, Louie Anderson, and Bella Murphy. This installment is directed by Craig Brewer, with a screenplay by Kenya Barris, Barry W. Blaustein and David Sheffield. Check out the new trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Set in the lush and royal country of Zamunda, newly-crowned King Akeem (Eddie Murphy) and his trusted confidante Semmi (Arsenio Hall) embark on an all-new hilarious adventure that has them traversing the globe from their great African nation to the borough of Queens, New York – where it all began.
