WRONG TURN trailer – the horror classic gets a reboot that also appears to be a sequel

The original WRONG TURN is a favorite among horror fans, spawning several sequels with mixed results. Now, the story is getting an update in the form of a reboot for a new generation, although it’s also a sequel of sorts as it seems to acknowledge the original story’s elements and events – the title is simply WRONG TURN, following a growing trend in Hollywood to re-imagine franchises while using the original title the same way, even when the new films are still technically connected (like 2018’s HALLOWEEN for example). The cast includes Charlotte Vega, Adain Bradley, Bill Sage, Emma Dumont, Dylan McTee, Daisy Head, Tim DeZarn and Matthew Modine. This is directed By Mike P. Nelson (THE DOMESTICS), but more importantly the screenplay comes from Alan B. McElroy who wrote the original WRONG TURN… so it’s a reboot/sequel written by the man who created the original. Check out the trailer and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Backwoods terror and never-jangling suspense meet when Jen (Charlotte Vega) and a group of friends set out to hike the Appalachian Trail. Despite warnings to stick to the trail, the hikers stray off course—and cross into land inhabited by The Foundation, a hidden community of mountain dwellers who use deadly means to protect their way of life. Suddenly under siege, Jen and her friends seem headed to the point of no return— unless Jen’s father (Golden Globe® nominee Matthew Modine) can reach them in time.

WRONG TURN opens January 26, 2021
