When Tom Hanks starred in the SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, he solidified himself as one of the most iconic big screen World War II Army characters of all time. Now he’s taking on the Navy in the new thriller GREYHOUND, based on the 1955 C. S. Forester novel “The Good Shepherd” and also set during WWII. This film was originally intended to be released a year ago, but has seen multiple date changes, and is now set for a June 2020 release. In the early days of WWII, an international convoy of 37 Allied ships, led by captain Ernest Krause (Tom Hanks) in his first command of a U.S. destroyer, crosses the treacherous North Atlantic while hotly pursued by wolf packs of Nazi U-boats.
Born and raised in Dallas, Mark has been a movie critic since 1994, with reviews featured in print, radio and National TV. From 2002 until 2015 he managed the Dallas Comic Con, Sci-Fi Expo and Fan Days events in the DFW area. He currently catalogs rare comic books and movie memorabilia for Heritage Auctions, and runs the Dallas Comic Show conventions, but remains an avid moviegoer and cinema buff.
