Universal Pictures announces TWO more HALLOWEEN movies for 2020 and 2021

If you enjoyed last year’s HALLOWEEN reboot/sequel starring Jamie Lee Curtis, and directed by David Gordon Green, then get ready to be happy, because more is on the way, officially. Today, Universal Pictures announced there will be two HALLOWEEN movie sequels in the next two years, HALLOWEEN KILLS in 2020, and HALLOWEEN ENDS in 2021. See the full press release below. While there’s no info yet on whether or not Jamie Lee Curtis will return again as Laurie Strode, she is listed as a producer on both films, and one could expect (based on her enthusiasm and enjoyment working on the last one) that she’s likely to be back.  The 2018 film is officially the highest-grossing of the franchise, earning over $250 million during its theatrical run.  With Blumhouse getting behind it, they effectively breathed new life into the franchise from where it was after two Rob Zombie-directed attempts, both of which the newer film basically ignored.  In fact, the new HALLOWEEN actually ignores all of the sequels from the original franchise thanks to a single line of dialogue making reference to how those other stories… “that’s something that people made up.”
