When The LEGO Movie hit theaters in 2014, it became a bit of surprise smash hit, helping to make a box office superstar out of Chris Pratt (one of three blockbusters for him in the same year), and propel co-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller to A-list status. It’s now been five years since its release, and a few spinoffs including The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Ninjago Movie. In 2019 we’re getting The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, which brings back the voices of Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, and Alison Brie, and adds in Tiffany Haddish, Nick Offerman, and Stefanie Beatriz. This outing is co-directed by Mike Mitchell (TROLLS) and Trisha Gum, but you’ll have to wait until February of next year to see the end result. The much-anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed, global box office phenomenon that started it all, “The LEGO® Movie 2: The Second Part,” reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city. It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild. The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.
